The waters between Elsinore and Helsingborg are some of the most heavily trafficked in the world. Ferries look like a colourful string of pearls shuttling back and forth between Denmark and Sweden. The 5 kilometres of waters are also the gateway to the entire Baltic Sea.

The port of Elsinore and Kronborg are landmarks visible from far away. North of the harbour we find the sea of Kattegat with outstanding conditions for yachting, while Oresund stretches south towards Copenhagen. Here you can sail between numerous small harbours in both Denmark and Sweden.

These waters have staged many fierce naval battles – not least due to customs duties for passage collected for more than 400 years by the town of Elsinore.
