Port Information


The port of Elsinore is normally easy to approach. Water depth just outside the harbor is 10-25 meters. Strong north and south going current depending on wind direction can occasionally make approach difficult for low powered vessels and such are recommend to take pilot. Cruise ships can berth at the new Royal Quay in the town centre. Possible to pick up passengers right on the quayside.

Larger cruise ships can anchor approx. 0.25 nautical miles SSE of the southern breakwater. The positions are well sheltered in most wind directions. Ships tenders may be used for passengers and crew. Passengers can be tendered to a new two-sided pier at the Royal quay. Approx 5 minutes by tender to breakwater. Possible to pick up passengers right on the quayside, where there are approx mately 4.000 m2 space for boses.

Advance notification

ISPS area

The Royal Quay is ISPS approved. The areas are clearly marked with signs. It should be noted that anyone in the ISPS area can be asked to identify themselves and be subjected to baggage control. Only authorized persons with approved ID cards and with business in the port are allowed access to ISPS areas. Work vehicles are allowed access in the line of duty.


Advance notification of visitor’s arrival shall be given to the port control. Visitors shall be able to identify themselves with photo-ID. Crew members within an ISPS area shall have vessel-related ID that must be worn visibly. Authorization must always be worn visibly.
As regards crew changes, Seaman’s Book, passport or the equivalent are accepted on condition that advance notification of the personal details has been given to the respective authorities.
